The MaxPreps Tour of Champions has traveled to nearly 60 different high school campus' over the past two years and one thing remains the same: everyone wants to know who was #1. This year, Artesia High School, out of Lakewood, California took home the crown.
As usual, it was a beautiful day in southern California. Part of a basketball team ceremony held outside in the quad area, MaxPreps and the Army National Guard put together a ceremony that would be witnessed by hundreds of students, faculty, dignitaries, and fans. With the school band and cheering crowd as the backdrop, the Artesia Pioneers took to the main stage in a grand fashion. MaxPreps' Stan Granch had the honors of reflecting on the team's impressive season while MSG Carlos Bonilla presented Head Coach Grover with the MaxPreps Tour of Champions National Rankings trophy.
The Tour of Champions has made five stops to the LA metro region, and we are never surprised at the enthusiasm and passion that the area displays for its teams...Artesia High was no different. MaxPreps and the Army National Guard congratulate Artesia on being the top-ranked team in America - see you next year!
