Central Catholic made a move in this week's MaxPreps northeast region football computer rankings by moving up to No. 3 and taking over the top spot in the state of Pennsylvania.
St. Joseph Prep had been the No. 1 team in the state for most of the season, but Central Catholic moved ahead this week with St. Joseph Prep dropping to No. 4.
St. Joseph Regional and Paramus Catholic are No. 1 and 2 respectively. The two New Jersey schools each reached a state group championship game with St. Joseph Regional playing in the Non-Public Group III final and Paramus Catholic playing in the Non-Public Group IV final.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The Northeast region includes teams from Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
