Oostburg looks to repeat as Division 3 state champions
Oostburg started slow before defeating
Mosinee 63-50 in a Division 3 state semifinal to advance to the Division 3 state championship game on Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen trailed 30-22 at halftime before going on an 11-0 run to open the second half, and didn't trail the rest of the way en route to their 35th consecutive victory.
Senior Riley
Riley Ketterhagen, a UW-Green Bay signee, scored a game-best 18 points and added seven rebounds and six steals for Oostburg.
Fellow senior
Ady Ketterhagen, also signed with UW-Green Bay, collected 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Their younger sister,
Kinsley Ketterhagen, one of the top sophomores in the Midwest, added 12 points and four assists for the Flying Dutchmen.
Mosinee was led by junior
Addy Henrich, who finished with 17 points.
Oostburg, coached by Isiah Ketterhagen, looks to repeat as Division 3 state champions when they face fellow unbeaten Wisconsin Dells in the state final.
Wisconsin Dells takes down Kettle Moraine Lutheran
Wisconsin Dells is headed to the Division 3 state championship game for the first time in program history after knocking off
Kettle Moraine Lutheran 77-71.
The Chiefs led nearly the entire contest, holding a 40-37 lead at the break and by as many as 10 points late in the contest before holding off a late push by Kettle Moraine Lutheran.
Senior
Natalie Backhaus, a Division II University of Sioux Falls signee, netted a game-high 23 points and added six rebounds, six assists, four blocks, and two steals for Wisconsin Dells.
Other key contributors for coach Bob Buss and the Chiefs included sophomore
Jazlyn Alwin and senior
Ashiya Hopkins, who finished with 20 and 15 points, respectively.
Kettle Moraine Lutheran, which ends the year with a 27-2 record, was led by sophomore
Brooklyn Luehring, who tallied 20 points.
Wisconsin Dells is 29-0 entering Saturday's Division 3 state title game against fellow unbeaten Oostburg, the defending D3 state champion.
