Soldotna won its eighth state championship and ninth in 10 years during a 9-0 season in 2019. The Stars have been among the top five teams in the state all 10 years and finished No. 1 three times, including last year.
Those results helped make them the most dominant high school football team in Alaska over the last decade, according to our MaxPreps scoring system.
With 416 points, the Stars easily outdistanced West (Anchorage), which has been among the top six ranked teams in the state the last 10 years, including No. 1 in 2015 and 2010. The Eagles are No. 2 with 325 points in the MaxPreps methodology.
