Jean-Pierre Tokoto, ranked as the 10th top recruit from the
Class of 2012 by MaxPreps, announced this week that he will attend the University of North Carolina, according to the Milwaukee Journal.
The 6-foot-6 forward is averaging 20.5 points and 10 rebounds this year for
Menomonee Falls (Wis.). Tokoto, who has an impressive 40-inch vertical jump, said that the University of Wisconsin was his second choice.
The athletic Tokoto, who needs to improve his jump shot according to scouts, is ranked as, perhaps, Wisconsin's best basketball player since Joe Wolf starred at Kohler High almost 30 years ago. Wolf also chose the Tar Heels and later played in the NBA.
Tokoto also picked the Tar Heels over Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky,
Marquette, Maryland and UCLA.
