Nigel Williams-Goss isn't afraid of a big decision.
Prior to his freshman year of high school, he left Tualatin, Ore., for suburban Las Vegas to be part of head coach Michael Peck's
Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) basketball program.
A little over a year later, the 6-foot-4 sophomore guard has decided to put down roots in the area by picking the University of Nevada-Las Vegas as his college destination.

"The motivation behind the early decision is just to allow him to focus just on basketball," said Virgil Williams-Goss, Nigel's father. "He can just focus on getting better and not worry about recruiting process."
Williams-Goss is having a breakout year with the Pilots, averaging 15.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals.
"The one thing he is learning is to be is efficient," Virgil Williams-Goss said of his son's progression. "He is learning that at a young age, which most high school players don't. He is learning to move better without the ball and be efficient with his opportunities."
The Oregon native was widely-regarded as the top player in the 2012 class coming out of middle school and is another positive sign for a Runnin' Rebel program that has returned to prominence under Lon Kruger.
"He has a chance to have some input on his future teammates by doing this early," Virgil Williams-Goss said. "He talks with a lot of guys about college and possibly going to school together, so he has a chance to have an impact on some of those guys."
Findlay Prep is 14-1 this season and No. 16 in this week's Xcellent 25 High School Basketball Rankings.
