Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio) High School’s football team not only overcame a deficit Friday night, it overcame a roadblock.

Down 7-0 at halftime, Moeller rode the strong legs of
Tucker Skove, who according to the
Cincinnati Enquirer carried the ball 38 times for 206 yards and two touchdowns in a 17-7 win over arch-nemesis and host
St. Xavier (Cincinnati, Ohio).
It was the third comeback victory of the season for Moeller, which lost league championships three of the last six years by virtue of losses to St. Xavier.
A 41-yard touchdown jaunt by Skove put Moeller up for the first time 10-7 on the final play of the third quarter. His 5-yard score sealed the win with 4:49 left.
The victory upped Moeller’s record to 5-0 while St. Xavier dropped to 3-2.
Skove, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound senior, carried the ball 22 times in the second half alone for 130 yards.
He outdueled St. Xavier’s
Conor Hundley, who came into the game with 699 yards rushing.
Moeller held Hundley to 88 yards on 21 carries, according to the Enquirer.
St. Xavier ripped off 68 yards on its first drive, capped by a 31-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver
Kevin Milligan to
Trey Kilgore. The trickery gave St. Xavier a 7-0 lead.
Moeller stiffened the rest of the game, allowing just 125 yards.

A 47-yard field goal by
Nick Palopoli closed the gap to 7-3 with 3:29 left in the third until Skove took over.
Longview (Texas) 32, Abilene (Texas) 31: A gutsy fake extra point and two-point conversion by
Blaine Tomlinson in overtime lifted Longview to victory.

J'Haston Faggans added 81 yards rushing and two scores.
The victory helped Longview avoid its first four-game losing streak since 1965.
Oklahoma State-bound
Herschel Sims had a 99-yard kickoff return for touchdown for Abilene and a 15-yard TD run with 16 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, Pa.) 24, Woodland Hills (Pittsburgh, Pa.) 7: According to the
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Damion Jones-Moore more than made up for a bad memory, rushing for 239 yards and three touchdowns in the decisive victory pitting two Pennsylvania powers.
Last year, Woodland Hills trampled Central Catholic 36-3 and Jones-Moore had just 28 yards rushing, according to the newspaper.
But on Friday, Central Catholic (4-0) rolled offensively and allowed Woodland Hills (1-3) to just 159 yards.
To freshen Central Catholic’s memory, the team watched last year’s loss to Woodland Hills before the game.
Jones-Moore had scoring runs of 34, 5 and 66 yards.
