After committing to Texas back in August, high school football's top prospect in the Class of 2022
Quinn Ewers of
Southlake Carroll (Texas) announced Wednesday night via Twitter he is pulling back that decision.
Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports mentioned Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Ohio State or Oklahoma as potential destinations for the 6-foot-3, 195-pound quarterback.
Of those, the Buckeyes have momentum as the potential leader with several 247Sports Crystal Ball picks going their way. A re-commitment to Texas is also not out of the question.
Through the first three games of his junior season, Ewers has done nothing to diminish his status as the top junior in the country. He's completed nearly 70 percent of his pass attempts for 937 yards and 11 touchdowns against just two interceptions.
Ewers was the MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year in 2019, throwing for 4,003 yards and 45 touchdowns while completing over 72 percent of his passes. He added another 568 yards on the ground and nine more scores.
