Dorain Carter, Beech

When All-American candidate Jalen Hurd went down with a shoulder injury in the first game of the season, Beech needed a running back to step forward and carry the load. Carter has done just that, carrying the ball 54 times for 310 yards in 28-21 win over Independence. The carries are the second highest in state history for a single game (56 is the record). Carter has 750 yards rushing on the season on 121 carries for 3-1 Beech. He had 223 yards on 34 carries in a 40-36 win over Gallatin two weeks ago.
