One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Klein Collins (2nd in the state) and Atascocita (28th). Klein Collins took its contest against Memorial by a conclusive 38 - 10 score. Klein Collins was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why.
Points Galore
St. Pius X was the better team in every quarter against Chavez last week and consequently the better team overall. St. Pius X put the hurt on Chavez with a conclusive 69 - 14 victory. Junior Grant Gunnell deserves a lot of the credit as he threw for 503 yards and ten touchdowns. The combined 83-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
Banging Down the Door
Cuero has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. Everything went its way against Gonzales as it secured a 60 - 21 win. Cuero especially relied on senior Drew Riemenschneider, who tossed the ball for 212 yards and five TDs, and junior Keiran Grant, who ran for 128 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. Thanks to its success, Cuero cracked into the power rankings and occupies the 23rd spot.
