As the numbers begin to really pile up at this point in the 2008 season, we thought we would take a closer look at some of the names at the top of MaxPreps.com’s national statistical leaderboards.

Passing Yards
3,400 Will Musselman, Sr., Greenhill (Addison, Texas)
Has completed 58 percent of passes (247-425) and thrown for 30 touchdowns against eight interceptions. Despite Greenhill’s 3-6 record, the Hornets – thanks in large part to Musselman’s passing – are averaging 35.6 points per game. Threw for 529 yards and six touchdowns last Friday in loss to St. Mark’s of Dallas.
3,329 Mitchell Faine, Jr., Ada (Ohio)
Faine is picking up significant recruiting attention this fall as he continues to pile up gaudy numbers. The 6-foot-3 junior replaced record-setting Ada signal caller Zac Dysert (now at Miami-Ohio) and has led the Bulldogs to an 11-0 record and put 42 points on the scoreboard per game. Faine has a 33-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio and has connected on 71.4 percent of his attempts. His biggest output yardage-wise came against Crestview on Oct. 3 when he hit on 23-of-26 passes for 396 yards and six touchdowns.
3,310 Weston Jameson, Sr., Edgewood (Texas)
Jameson and his Bulldog teammates have been hot in recent weeks, piling up four-straight wins and averaging 45.2 points per game. Individually, Jameson has topped 350 yards through the air in three of those games. For the season, the 6-0, 170-pound senior has tossed 39 scoring strikes against just five interceptions.

Rushing Yards
2,914 Zach Barket, Sr., Schuylkill Haven (Pa.)
Barket hasn’t been held under 200 yards in a game all year while leading his Hurricanes to a 10-0 record. Barket topped 2,500 yards as a junior, so it’s not a stretch to say that he may be the most productive running back in high school football over the past two seasons. Barket has reached the end zone 45 times this fall – including seven in one game – and is averaging 11.4 yards per carry.
2,499 Clint Predmore, Sr., Elgin (Ore.)
Predmore’s most impressive stat signals his ability to score from anywhere on the field. He has touchdown runs of 60 yards or more in six games this season, including a 92-yarder against Weston-McEwen and an 80-yard dash against Pilot Rock. Predmore has 30 touchdowns on the season and is averaging 9.02 yards per carry for the 6-3 Huskies.
2,309 Tyler Fortner, Sr., Tallmadge (Ohio)
Fortner’s big senior season has helped generate some interest amongst Mid-American Conference schools like Akron and Toledo. The 5-10, 197-pound senior has been a workhorse for the 8-3 Blue Devils, toting the rock 309 times. He saved his best for last week’s playoff tussle with Padua Franciscan, leading Tallmadge to a 30-17 win by running 40 times for 263 yards and three touchdowns.

Receiving Yards
1,495 Chris Gohman, Sr., Elizabethtown (Ky.)
Gohman’s best game of the season may have been his last, pulling in 13 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-48 win over Washington County. The 6-3 pass-catcher also had a 200-yard receiving performance against Louisville Moore in early October, totaling 269 yards and three scores in that outing. Gohman has 21 touchdown receptions for the season.
1,446 Ferrell Kramer, So., Ellensburg (Wash.)
Kramer shot up the leaderboard this week on the strength of a 10-catch, 354-yard performance in a 54-28 win over Toppenish. Just a sophomore, he scored three touchdowns in that game and has 15 for the season. Kramer’s Bulldogs still have a regular season game to play and appear headed for the postseason, so huge numbers are likely for this sophomore sensation.
1,412 Aldo Hernandez, Sr., Alexander (Laredo, Texas)
Consistency has been the key for Hernandez as he has topped the 100-yard mark in receiving in eight of nine games this fall. Unofficially, Hernandez is the nation’s leader in pass receptions with 111, including 20 in a game against Laredo Martin. The senior has 16 touchdown catches.
