Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2025-26 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Ashley Walker of
North Augusta is the 2025-26 MaxPreps South Carolina High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year. The 5-foot-10 junior forward led the Yellow Jackets to a 28-1 record and second straight Class 4A state title championship.
For the season, Walker averaged 17.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.2 assists per game as North Augusta won its seventh title in 10 seasons.
