Williams leads Skyline (Sammamish, Wash.) past Bothell (Wash.)The prep legend of
Kasen Williams continued to soar as the nation's top-ranked receiver hauled in seven passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns and Skyline upended Bothell 31-21 in this battle for the KingCo 4A championship.
Skyline, ranked No. 1 in the state by the Seattle Times, also got a big game from sophomore quarterback
Max Browne as his team beat Bothell for the second straight time. The previous win was 31-26 in the 4A state semifinals last seasons.
According to the Seattle Times, Browne completed 21 of 33 passes for 358 yards and four touchdowns lifting Skyline to 8-1. It has won eight straight since a 39-34 loss to Liberty to open the season.
Bothell had won seven straight since a humbling 49-13 loss to Southern California power Mission Viejo. It managed just 18 yards rushing in the first half against Skyline, but got it rolling in the second half behind senior running back
Luke Proulx (25 carries, 127 yards). His touchdown run with 8.4 seconds left in the third cut Skyline's lead to three points.
But the Washington-bound Williams caught a 26-yard TD pass in the fourth, then caused a fumble late to seal it.
