Woke up this morning in the mansion, cooked a nice breakfast for Mike, Lizzie and Cara, and then went to a truck wash to get the "Express" ready for its big day at the Tacoma Dome. After all this, I took the RV to fill up on water and empty the sewage because Mike just so happened to leave the water on while it was defrosting, which in the end made us empty without ever actually using the freshly filled water.
Once this was all done we started the interview process with Kennedy High School. They were trying to become acquainted with the Tacoma Dome, so that is where the interviews took place. They made it clear to us how similar these two teams were, and how unlike a lot of other rivals, how good of friends their coaching staffs are. Nate Williams and Kevin Freitag seemed to both feel that the hard work and dedication over the off season has made all the difference in Kennedy finally getting past the Semi-Finals. The team has great size and athleticism making tomorrow's pick a hard one, so to try to make things clear we headed up the I-5 to the University of Washington for the practice of Bellevue.
Bellevue is a team that is known for its execution, and that execution is what is going to win this game for them because by mere size of the two teams, Kennedy has the advantage. The one thing Kennedy doesn't have is the 5 State Championships that Bellevue has in its trophy case, and since last year losing in the playoffs the motto for the Bellevue team has been "Bring it Back!" Last week they showed the state just why that motto might come true, and after talking to the players and coach tonight, Bellevue seems to have the right mindset going into the game.
We now are sleeping in Calvin Clements', our regional manager, place after a great night around town. Tomorrow we get to take in the game and see just how evenly matched these two teams are.
P.S. Thank you Calvin!?
