The
St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) rising senior, ranked the fifth best cornerback in the Class of 2019, committed to USC on Friday night.
Steele, who said he would wait until Saturday — his birthday — to announce his decision picked the Trojans over Oregon, South Carolina, Florida, Clemson and Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-1, 181-pounder had 49 offers overall. The feeling of family was the biggest reason he chose the Trojans, he told USCFootball.com. "It feels great," he said of his decision. "It's a feeling like no other. It's home. … It feels like one big family. I have a great relationship with the staff, it's a place I know where I'll get developed."
Steele, already a two -year starter at one of the nation's top prep programs, had originally committed to UCLA.
