January will be big for the Lakers. They open the new year on Jan. 2 at the Cancer Research Classic with a matchup against Philadelphia-area powerhouse Archbishop Carroll (Radnor). Later in the month, La Lumiere will take on the daunting challenge of facing Dunbar (Dayton) in its own backyard at Flyin' to the Hoop.
Tournament time: Though it won't be participating in the main, 16-team bracket, La Lumiere will be making the trip to Fort Myers, Fla., for the City of Palms Classic before Christmas (Dec. 18-23). The Lakers will participate in the Signature Series with games against Potter's House Christian (Jacksonville, Fla.) and a team from Vienna.
