The final MaxPreps Small School National Rankings have a definite Texas flavor to them as six of the 25 teams in the rankings come from the Lone Star State.
Topping the list of Texas teams at No. 5 overall is East Bernard, which finished 15-0 and won the Class 2A Division 2 state championship. Cameron Yoe, the Class 2A Division 1 champion, comes in right behind at No. 6.
University (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), the Class 3A state champion in Florida, finishes as the No. 1 team in the small school rankings while Coldwater, the Division V winner in Ohio, is No. 2.
Schools considered for the small school rankings come from state enrollment divisions that generally have less than 1,000 students.
Rankings are based on the MaxPreps Freeman Computer Ratings.
