After flying high against the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies on Wednesday, the ThunderRidge Grizzlies came back down to earth. ThunderRidge fell 46-36 to Mullen on Friday. The match was a 17-17 toss-up at halftime, but ThunderRidge was blown out by Mullen in the second.
ThunderRidge's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chloe Parker, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Candace "CC" Baker, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals.
Among those leading the charge was Allison Schwertner, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals. Makenzie Jones was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks.
ThunderRidge's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mullen, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
ThunderRidge will take on Castle View at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday. Mullen is on the road again on Saturday and play against Cherokee Trail at 3:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Cherokee Trail will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
