There are 3,970 current college football players at NCAA D-1, D-2, D-3, or NAIA schools from Georgia. And of that number, 37 percent continued their careers at in-state colleges.

There are a number of factors that play into staying in-state. A big one from the perspective of parents is the in-state vs. out-of-state tuition at some universities. At Georgia State, for example, in-state tuition plus room and board is around $26,000 compared to out-of-state totals around $40,000.
