Boyle instantly upped the profile at Montverde Academy, a school that already had a burgeoning reputation for success on the hardwood. And early indications are that the international pipeline to the Orlando-area school is still flowing as newcomers from Brazil, Canada and Nigeria are on the roster.
Tough guard play was always a hallmark of Boyle's teams at St. Patrick and Frazier and Hill should continue that tradition. Frazier was a prolific scorer in the Tampa area, pouring in 29.7 points per game as a junior. Hill developed a rep as one of the nation's top junior point guards over the summer with the Florida Rams club program.
The international flair will show up on the wing and in the post with Cortesia (Brazil), Enanga (Cameroon), Garino (Argentina), Joel-Hans (Nigeria) and Nnoko (Cameroon) all figuring in to the rotation.
The Eagles could have been even better down low with the addition of 6-foot-10 super sophomore Dakari Johnson, who followed Boyle from St. Patrick as was forced to sit out the 2010-11 year due to transfer rules.
Boyle will have an immediate statement opportunity with his new program at the City of Palms Classic in December. He will be looking for a repeat of sorts as St. Patrick won a dramatic final a year ago.
