Cocoa (Fla.) vs. Skyline (Dallas, Texas)Cocoa didn't have time to sit around and lick its wounds after last week's 17-7 loss in Ohio to Cincinnati Colerain. Instead of lamenting the end of their 38-game winning streak, the Tigers had to go straight back to the drawing board to prepare for one of the most talented teams in the Lone Star State: Skyline. As usual, Cocoa played stingy defense against Colerain but wasn't able to get things going on offense. An 85-yard scoring strike from Maurice Pugh to sophomore Lorenzo Pratt accounted for nearly half the Tigers' total offensive output on the day.
On the other hand, Skyline had no trouble putting points on the board in its season opener against an out-of-state opponent. The Raiders scored touchdowns on each of their first six possessions en route to a convincing 47-7 rout of Ridgeway (Memphis, Tenn.). Junior quarterback
Devante Kincade accounted for five first-half touchdowns – three rushing and two threw the air. This game will be played Monday at Cowboys Stadium as part of the Texas portion of the Herbstreit Classic.
