Most teams are gearing up for the playoffs, be it the Sac-Joaquin Section or North Coast. Others are finishing up the regular season, including Central Coast powers within the West Catholic Athletic League.
The target is to reach section title games, win, and advance to CIF Northern Regional title games.

1. (Last week 1) De La Salle (Concord) (10-0)The Spartans rolled previous No. 15 California (San Ramon) 55-0. The winning streak is 37 overall and 64 in a row against the state and seemingly endless against NorCal competition since 1991. DLS earned the No. 1 seed in the North Coast Section Division I playoffs, an event it has won 21 successive times.

2. (2) Folsom (10-0)The Bulldogs clinched the Delta River League title outright with a 63-39 win over No. 5 Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove) and bound into the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs as overwhelming favorites.
Jake Browning passed for 490 yards and seven touchdowns with no interceptions, setting the state single-season mark for TD passes with 56. The run game produced 193 yards, including 85 by
Bryan Weldy. The last loss was to De La Salle in the NorCal Open last season, capping a 14-0 season start.

4. (4) Marin Catholic (Kentfield) (10-0)The Wildcats rolled San Marin 49-14 to win their 35th consecutive Marin County Athletic League game behind QB
Morgan Mahalak. The defending North Coast Section D-III champions are favored to repeat.

5. (6) Del Oro (Loomis) (8-2)The Golden Eagles beat rival Rocklin 14-13 to win the Sierra Foothill League, and then earned the No. 1 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs.

Dylan Kainrath scored his 20th TD of the season. The losses were to state power Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) and No. 1 De La Salle (Concord).

6. (7) Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) (9-1)The Trojans jump into the Sac-Joaquin Section D-I playoffs with a comeback for the ages as momentum. Oak Ridge rallied from deficits of 28-7 and 42-21 to stun Jesuit (Carmichael) 45-42 in overtime, pitching a second-half shutout with run-defense adjustments.
Ian Book tossed five touchdown passes, two to
Trent Buenzli and
Justin Priest. This is a
Sac-Joaquin Section D-I contender in every regard. The loss was to No. 2 Folsom.

7. (10) Serra (San Mateo) (7-2)The Padres bounced back from the shootout loss to St. Francis (Mountain View) to belt Riordan (San Francisco) 56-6 in West Catholic Athletic League play to set up a showdown with No. 3 Mitty (San Jose) for the WCAL title. The other loss was to No. 1 De La Salle 21-14.

8. (11) Elk Grove (9-1)The Thundering Herd beat Davis 35-7 to tie Grant and Franklin for the Delta Valley Conference title and earned a No. 2 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section D-II playoffs. The loss was to Franklin and the big win was over Grant 7-3.

9. (8) Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove) (8-2)The Eagles fell to No. 2 Folsom 63-39 and now focus on trying to earn a rematch as a threat in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs. Pleasant Grove has wins over No. 10 Rocklin and No. 20 Burbank (Sacramento).

10. (10) Rocklin (7-3)The Thunder had their seven-game winning streak halted, falling to No. 5 Del Oro 14-13 in the Sierra Foothill League title game. Rocklin is the No. 10 seed in the D-II Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, and very much a threat. The other losses were to No. 6 Oak Ridge and No. 9 Pleasant Grove.

11. (13) Granite Bay (7-3)The Grizzlies beat Nevada Union (Grass Valley) 49-7 and head into the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs as two-time defending champions. QB

13. (5) Campolindo (Moraga) (10-0)The Cougars beat Dublin 50-24 to win the Diablo Valley League a third successive time and head into the North Coast Section D-III playoffs as a real threat.

14. (12) Clayton Valley Charter (Concord) (9-1)The Ugly Eagles beat Northgate (Walnut Creek) 56-28 to clinch the program's second straight Diablo Valley Athletic League title. The loss was to No. 1 De La Salle and now head into the North Coast Section D-II playoffs.

15. (16) Deer Valley (Antioch) (9-1)The Wolverines beat Heritage (Brentwood) 31-20 and clinched the No. 4 seed in the North Coast Section D-I playoffs. Deer Valley lost to No. 12 Pittsburg 28-24 in Bay League play. Deer Valley has a win over Vacaville, which beat No. 16 Valley Chrisian.

16. (17) Valley Christian (San Jose) (6-3)The Warriors beat No. 18 St. Francis (Mountain View) 21-14 in West Catholic Athletic League play behind RB
Kirk Johnson. The losses were to then No. 7 Serra (San Mateo), No. 3 Mitty (San Jose) and Vacaville.

(21) Grant (Sacramento) (7-3)The Pacers are in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs an ongoing record 23rd consecutive time time, this time in D-II as a 5-seed after tying No. 8 Elk Grove and Franklin (Elk Grove) for the Delta Valley Conference title. Losses were to Del Oro, Oak Ridge and Elk Grove, by four points or less.

18. (19) St. Francis (Mountain View) (7-2)The Lancers fell to No. 16 Valley Christian a week after beating then-No. 3 Serra, 41-34, in what is always a wild ride in the WCAL.

21. (23) Stagg (Stockton) (9-1)The Delta Kings rolled West (Tracy) 55-0 to cap a great regular season that included their first win over St. Mary's (Stockton) since 1999. Now it's time for the Sac-Joaquin Section D-I playoffs.
Wayne Brooks threw five TDs against West and is the X-factor. The loss was to Modesto in a season opener.

22. (NR) Enterprise (Redding) (10-0)The Hornets of the Northern Section are the north state's top team this season, and hopeful of earning a NorCal berth. The opening win was a statement, beating longtime Sac-Joaquin Section power Oakdale 23-22, followed by wins over other Northern Section heavies in Paradise (42-7) and Sutter (47-21). Enterprise is the No. 1 seed in the North Section D-I playoffs, led by QB
Bobby Luken and RB
Isaiah Matthews.

24. (25) Central Catholic (Modesto) 9-1The Raiders beat previously unbeaten Patterson 17-13 and now set their sights on a Sac-Joaquin Section D-IV title repeat. CC has won a section record 16 titles. RB
