The Stallions will be an interesting team in the tough South Coast League this season.
Otherwise, things went smooth for most of the ranked teams. Even the ones that lost took their lumps from higher-ranked squads and showed well.

Huskies broke a 7-7 halftime tie and won 35-14 over Orange Lutheran to get coach Matt Logan his 200th career victory.
J.j. Taylor ran 27 times for 137 yards and three scores, while
Javon Mckinley caught 10 passes for 211 yards and a score. They go to Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) on Friday.

Braves went to Oregon and blew out Central Catholic (Portland) in their first big test of the year, 66-17.
Sean McGrew ran 19 times for 179 yards in the victory. They host a reeling Crespi (Encino) squad on Friday.

Rankings: 2 state, 10 national
The
Monarchs won 42-7 at La Mirada. Freshman
Jonathan Daniels went 17-for-25 passing with 290 yards and six touchdowns. They head to Upland on Friday.

Rankings: 4 state, 20 national
The Jackrabbits took the week off. They head to Las Vegas to take on the nation's No. 1 team, Bishop Gorman, on Friday.

Rankings: 6 state, 28 national
The Lancers steamrolled Colony (Ontario), 59-20.
Torreahno Sweet only ran five times but netted 100 yards and a touchdown, while
Tyler Sweet caught a pair of passes for 112 yards and a score. They host Chino Hills on Friday.

Rankings: 11 state, 87 national
The Gauchos won 45-14 against Palos Verdes, and
Roman Ale was stellar, completing 25 of 30 passes for 369 yards and five touchdowns. They will host Serra on Friday.

Rankings: 9 state, 77 national
The Diablos earned a 24-14 triumph over La Habra. They have a big one on Friday, hosting Norco.
8. (8) Vista Murrieta (Murrieta), 2-0Classification: Southern Section, Southwestern League, West Valley Division
Rankings: 21 state, 200 national
The Broncos won 55-33 over Santiago (Corona) behind a big game from
Cole Dubots (eight carries, 149 yards and three touchdowns). They go to Lakewood on Friday.

Rankings: 18 state, 167 national
The Cavaliers got back on the winning side with a 43-0 pasting of Carson.
Khalil Tate ran for two touchdowns and passed for another. They will face a huge test Friday at Narbonne.

Rankings: 7 state, 66 national
The Eagles won 33-13 over Dorsey (Los Angeles) behind
Trey Green, who ran 20 times for 136 yards and three touchdowns. They head to Westlake on Friday to face a once-ranked team.
11. (11) Alemany (Mission Hills), 3-0Classification: Southern Section, Mission League, Pac-5 Division
Rankings: 8 state, 68 national
The Warriors are 3-for-3 in terms of blowout wins. They won 42-6 over Downey, with the defense nabbing three interceptions. They host Dorsey on Friday.

The Cougars had a bye, and will go to Mission Viejo on Friday.

The Lions enjoyed a 42-6 victory at Venice, with

The Lancers lost a move up? They had a lot going for them before a 35-14 loss to Centennial. They were tied a the half thanks to spectacular defense and had a fourth-down in the red zone not come up inches short the game would likely have been much different. We might be put with the same situation next week, as they head to De La Salle (Concord) on Friday.

Rankings: 15 state, 112 national
The Lions stayed undefeated with a 39-8 victory over Huntington Beach. Reported stats show they allowed six completed passes for 6 yards. On Friday, they will welcome Hamilton (Los Angeles).

Rankings: 33 state, 369 national
The
Cougars went to Don Lugo (Chino) and earned a 35-10 victory. They go to Murrieta Valley on Friday.

The Grizzlies did go take on a Pac-5 team and win, 48-7 over Millikan (Long Beach). But it wasn't one of the better teams in the division. They go to Poway on Friday.

Rankings: 14 state, 108 national
The Cubs had a great fight from the No. 2 team in the San Diego Section in St. Augustine, and they came out victorious 23-20.
Drake Beasley ran 29 times for 213 yards and two scores to lead the way. They play at Salesian on Thursday.
19. (20) Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita), 2-1Classification: Southern Section, South Coast League, West Valley Division
Rankings: 19 state, 180 national
Tesoro's comeback earned the Titans a 30-28 win after they trailed 21-15 entering the final quarter. Their next game is Friday at West Covina.

The
