At the plate, Pierce Adkins was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 16 times he's played. Cooper Collins was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Braxton County scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 15-11 to Roane County. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Kallen Meadows led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kyler White, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Clay County's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Braxton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.
