This Class 5A/Division I second-round playoff matchup is the first meeting between these teams since 2006. Allen won that game (59-42) and is 3-0 overall against Mesquite overall since 2004.
Allen (10-1) clinched its seventh-straight season with at least 10 wins with a resounding 63-14 defeat of Richardson in an opening-round game last week. The Eagles had 621 yards of total offense in the game, according to the Star Newspapers. The standout was sophomore quarterback
