St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) produced more 2015 NFL Draft picks than any other high school, while the state of Florida led all states in former high school football players having their name called over the weekend.
The Fort Lauderdale powerhouse saw three alumni drafted: receivers Phillip Dorsett and Rashad Greene, as well as offensive lineman Bobby Hart.
High schools in the Sunshine State collectively produced 39 draft picks, seven of which were first-round selections. The talent was spread out across the state, from South Florida to the Panhandle, with a strong concentration of draft picks hailing from Dade and Broward counties.
With 30 draft picks, Georgia produced the second-most selections, followed by Texas (27) and California (26). Per capita, Georgia produced more draft picks than either Florida, Texas or California.
While Aquinas was unrivaled with three draft picks, a dozen schools had a pair of alumni drafted.
