2019 MLB Draft: Top 10 high school outfield prospects

Outfielder will be a popular choice in the 2019 MLB Draft as three preps could be chosen among the top 10 selections and five could be selected on the first day.

In 2018, 37 high school players were chosen on the first day of the draft, which includes two rounds and several compensatory rounds

Could be the top hitter in the Class of 2019 with the ability to hit with power to all fields. Very athletic body with plenty of growth potential. Greene hit .417 with six doubles and six home runs in 62 at-bats.

Draft prospect: Could be the second or third high school player chosen in the draft, possibly in the top five.

Another top 10 outfielder, Carroll was impressive all summer long, capping things off with MVP honors in the Perfect Game All-American Classic. Very athletic with a strong arm, his best tool is his bat as he can hit the gaps or hit for power. Named the state Gatorade Player of the Year, Carroll batted .540 with nine home runs, 26 RBI and 38 runs.

Draft prospect: Could be second or third outfielder selected.

One of the top all-around athletes in the country, Ealy will have to weigh a football scholarship at Ole Miss or first-round money from a Major League team.  Ealy's speed and athletic ability make him a prized defensive center fielder, however he adds power at the plate as well. He had six home runs while batting .373 with 11 doubles, 22 steals and 24 walks.

Draft prospect: Could be a top 10 overall pick, depending on his willingness to forgo football.

Like Ealy, Hampton will have to make a choice between a football scholarship and a professional baseball career. A possible defensive back in football, Hampton has speed and power. He batted .414 this year with 47 runs scored. He had 20 RBI despite batting in the lead-off spot most of the season. He also finished with eight doubles and eight home runs.

Draft prospect: Could be chosen in the second or third round.

A possible left fielder who is also a potential first base candidate. He power potential, as his five home runs this year would attest. Has a strong, powerful build. Batting only .300 this season and has 21 strikeouts to just 13 walks.

Draft prospect: Likely will go early on the second day.

The Gatorade State Player of the Year in Pennsylvania, Newell is a multi-faceted player who has natural instincts that could allow him to stick in center field. He has a good enough arm for the outfield despite having Tommy John surgery last year. He can also hit for average and power as he's batting .375 with three home runs this year.

Draft prospect: Could go at the end of the first day or early on the second day.

Maine has not provided many high draft picks out of high school, but Fletcher could join the list. Only two Maine high school players have gone in the first five rounds and Fletcher is a possibility, given his ability to hit with power and his athletic build.

Draft prospect: Headed to Vanderbilt, Fletcher could go somewhere on the second day.

Transferred to Orange Lutheran for his senior season, Frechette is big and athletic and has growth potential. He has shown power in the past, hitting three home runs as a junior, however he did not hit a home run as a senior. Batted .347 with two doubles and a triple.

Draft prospect: A likely left fielder at the next level, Frechette could go early on the second day.

A good athlete, Dixon has good speed and a capable arm. Can also hit for power. He batted .348 for the Yellowjackets with five doubles and three home runs.

Draft prospect: A possible selection on the second day of the draft or early on the third day.

Britt is one of three Panther who could be chosen in the draft. With a big build, he still has the potential to add power. He's a potential right fielder thanks to a very strong and accurate arm. Batting .364 with six home runs and six doubles. Also fast enough to swipe 18 bases.

Draft prospect: Could go early on the second day of the draft.
