The top four teams remained in place this week in the MaxPreps Georgia Top 25 high school football computer rankings. Top-ranked Colquitt County and No. 2 Grayson each pitched shutouts and combined to score 78 points in decisive regional title wins.
Sophomore
Charlie Pace rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns as Colquitt County defeated Tift County 41-0, while
Jamal Haynes fired an 80-yard touchdown pass to
Jaden Smith on the second play of the game, lifting Grayson to a 37-0 win over Newton.
Third-ranked Lowndes held its position with a tough 28-21 win over Camden County thanks to 240 yards passing and three touchdowns from
Jacuri Brown. Five of those completions for 184 yards and two scores went to
Dominique Marshall. Brown also rushed for 110 yards.
No. 4 Warner Robbins won by forfeit over Coffee.
Two teams that made big jumps were sixth-ranked Lee County, which jumped six spots with a very impressive 41-7 win over previous No. 5 Valdosta, and No. 20 Cartersville, which improved eight spots following a 31-14 win over Calhoun.
Caleb McDowell rushed for 111 yards and two scores for Lee County, while midseason transfer quarterback and Florida commit
Carlos Del Rio-Wilson accounted for 332 yards to lead Cartersville.
