There's another new team at the top of the Alabama MaxPreps Top 25 football rankings. For the fourth straight week,
Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville) moved up one spot, this time to No. 1 following a 50-18 victory over
Tuscaloosa County behind 202 yards rushing and three touchdowns from Auburn-bound back
Armoni Goodwin.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound senior, who missed most of last year with a knee injury, now has 521 yards rushing and eight touchdowns in three games. Hewitt-Trussville takes its 4-0 record into play Friday at home against No. 2
Thompson (Alabaster) in one of the top 10 games in the nation.
Of the top 25 teams, 16 are unbeaten, including all in the Top 5. One of them is No. 14
Theodore, which moved up 20 spots following a 21-20 win over previous No. 6
Daphne.
Daphne dropped to No. 15, one spot below Theodore, which stopped a two-point conversion try in overtime to win.
