In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. The action last week included a one-point thriller between Huntington and Hurricane.
Can't Touch This
Bridgeport got a 42 - 13 win over Winfield last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Jake Bowen. Bowen ran for 200 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. That performance made Bowen one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between Mingo Central and Liberty last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 74 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Mingo Central took its contest against Liberty by a conclusive 53 - 21 score. Despite Mingo Central's win, the team was passed up by other teams in the power rankings and gave up two spots in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Spring Valley (2nd in the power rankings) and Huntington (1st). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
