Soccer Coaches preseason rankings.
Dallas Jesuit in 5A boys,
Wakeland (Frisco) in 4A
boys,
Boyd (McKinney) in 5A girls and
Pearce (Richardson) in 4A girls start
the year at No. 1. Jesuit, Wakeland and Pearce are defending state
champions. Boyd was the runner-up last season.
JESUIT STAR SUFFERS BROKEN LEGJesuit is ranked No. 1, but its depth will be tested after losing star middle forward Kristian Garciamendez-Rowold.
The Dallas Morning News
reported that Garciamendez-Rowold suffered a broken fibula last week in
the Disney Showcase tournament. "First 20 minutes of my first game,"
he told The Dallas Morning News.
"I went to save the ball from going out of bounds and I just put way
too much pressure on this right foot. I reached out to kick with my left
and it just snapped." The injury will not require surgery and the
Garciamendez-Rowold hopes to return for the playoffs in April.
