Top 10 most dominant high school boys basketball programs of the last 10 years in Maryland

Highlights of the former DeMatha star in high school.

Using our database of historical results, we are looking back at the most successful high school basketball program in the state of Maryland over the past decade.

DeMatha owns WCAC titles in 2011 and 2018 (2020 title not included in rankings) and has been ranked in the state Top 25 rankings each year of the past decade. According to MaxPreps computer rankings, the Stags finished the season nationally ranked four times and have won over 80 percent over the past 10 seasons.

Mount St. Joseph finished in a distant second, winning state titles in 2014 and 2017 and appearing in the state Top 25 rankings each season over the past decade.

Points awarded for:

• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps state computer rankings (25 points awarded to the No. 1 team, 24 for No. 2 and so on).

• Top 25 finishes in the MaxPreps national computer rankings (50 points for No. 1, 49 for No. 2 and so on).

• State championships (20 points).

• State championship game appearances (10 points).

Note: 2020 titles not included in calculations as some championships were canceled due to coronavirus outbreak.
