The numbers might not have changed much, but the postseason is here and brought about plenty of gameday action in the power rankings this week. Among the action were the efforts of Chandler's senior Decarlos Brooks, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Chandler's 49 - 21 win over Mountain Pointe last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Decarlos Brooks. Brooks earned five touchdowns and 248 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Brooks as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
Salpointe Catholic gave both Mingus and its quarterback (sacked five times) a rough time last week. Salpointe Catholic picked up a decisive 'W' against Mingus, finishing up at 62 - 22. No one had a larger role in the success than junior Bijan Robinson, who brought his A game into the contest. He ran for 259 yards and also punched in four touchdowns. At 84 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Perry (4th in the power rankings) and Pinnacle (2nd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. With each team boasting a good deal of offensive firepower (Pinnacle has three high-flying games in a row, Perry four), it will be interesting to see who can run the score up higher.
