Congratulations to the Mount Notre Dame High School girls’ basketball team! The Cougars defeated their rival, Lakota West, and clinched their third straight championship, and went on to win their fourth title in just five years.
In the afternoon of April 11, 2008, the Cougars were honored by the MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard for being ranked eighth nationally for the 2007-2008 season. Steve Spiewak from MaxPreps opened the ceremony discussing the team's on-court accomplishments followed by a quick introduction of the Ohio National Guard. Then, Army National Guard, Lieutenant Colonel Greg Gustafan presented Mount Notre Dame with the National Ranking trophy honoring them as one of the best high school basketball teams in the country in front of a packed gym with the entire student body, faculty, various community members, and local media present at the Pep Rally.
