De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) hadn't just won four straight state Open Division football titles. In the last three the Northern California champions dominated Southern California foes by a combined 129-36 score. But in the last game of the 2013 high school season, in a contest pitting two of the top five teams in the country, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) answered the call and challenge.
