With the MaxPreps National Player of the Year watch list being released yesterday, we are diving deeper on how the top 25 recruits in the Class of 2028 according to
247Sports are performing this season.
A.J. Williams of
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (McDonough, Ga.) is the top player in the class. The 6-foot-7 small forward is averaging 29 points and 12 rebounds per game this season.
Colton Hiller of
Coatesville (Pa.) is the No. 3 player in the class and averages 24 points per game. He dropped 34 points in the final game of 2025 and is the brother of five-star junior offensive lineman
Maxwell Hiller.
Jakyi Miles of
Mesa (Mesa, Ariz.) was the 2024-25 MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year and checks in at No. 18 on this list. The 6-foot-4 guard has scored 143 points over his past five games with 29 assists.
No. 2 Isaiah Hamilton of Crestwood Prep in Canada along with No. 17 Blaze Johnson and Quinton Wilson were not included.

6-7 | 225 | SFThe No. 1 player in the Class of 2028 goes off every game with averages of 29 points and 12 rebounds a game. He turns defense into offense with 1.8 steals per game.
3. Colton Hiller, Coatesville (Pa.)
6-6 | 210 | SFSports a scoring average of 24 points per game while contributing six rebounds, three assists and two steals for a top 25 team in Pennsylvania.
4. Ahmadou Touray, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
7-0 | 205 | CTouray is emerging as a 7-foot force at IMG. Averaging around six points, six rebounds and one blocked shot per game.
5. Bentley Lusakueno, Woodward Academy (College Park, Ga.)
6-10 | 205 | CPutting up 16 points and six rebounds for a young War Eagles squad ranked No. 23 in the state. He also excels on defense with a season-high eight blocks in the opener.
6. Evan Willis, Crossroads (Santa Monica, Calif.)
6-8 | 190 | SFWillis scores and defends at an elite level. On Nov. 25 he put it all together with 28 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
7. Adan Diggs, Millennium (Goodyear, Ariz.)
6-5 | 180 | GDiggs has Millennium ranked No. 9 in the nation, filling the stat sheet with 23.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.5 steals per contest.
8. Erick Dampier, Jr., Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Madison, Miss.)
6-10 | 230 | CEmerged as an eighth grader and two years later has the Patriots ranked No. 3 in Mississippi. He shoots nearly 70 percent and averages a double-double with 2.4 blocks per game.
9. Mason Collins, Tatnall (Wilmington, Del.)
6-6 | 195 | SFThe son of a former first-round pick averages over 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game on offense. His father Mardy excelled at Temple with 2.8 steals per game in his final two years there and Mason is picking up 3.6 steals per contest to go with 2.9 blocks.
10. Dylan Betts, IMG Academy Gray (Bradenton, Fla.)
7-3 | 230 | CBetts is honing in on his offensive skills and continues to dominate defensively with 2.2 blocked shots per game.
11. Shalen Sheppard, Crossroads
6-9 | 215 | PFThe forward showed all of his strengths in a Jan. 10 win by scoring 20 points with 10 rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
12. Xavier Young, Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy (Dallas, Texas)
6-10 | 210 | CThe big man routinely throws down big dunks and plays both ends of floor with command for the No. 11 team in Texas.
13. Myles Hayes, Woodward Academy
6-5 | 175 | SGHis father was a top 10 pick in the 2003 NBA Draft and Myles is making an impact for a top 25 team in Georgia. The guard, who also plays with his older brother, averages 14.8 points and 6.3 rebounds a game.
14. Josh Lowery, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.)
6-5 | 180 | GLowery is an integral piece for the No. 3 team in the nation. A difference-maker on both ends of the floor and can throw it down with authority.
15. D.J. Okoth, Bartlett (Tenn.)
6-8 | 180 | SFThe Panthers are ranked No. 6 in the nation as Okoth averages nearly 15 points and six rebounds per game. Against Long Island Lutheran he recorded 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a 71-57 victory.
16. Kameron Mercer, Princeton (Cincinnati, Ohio)
6-6 | 200 | PGMercer suffered a shoulder injury in the season-opener and is aiming for a February return.
18. Jakyi Miles, Mesa (Ariz.)
6-4 | 180 | GMiles has improved his numbers a season after earning MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year. His squad is ranked No. 14 in the state while he posts averages of 25.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists with 2.2 steals per game.
19. Brady Pettigrew, Bolingbrook (Ill.)
6-4 | 185 | GWon the dunk contest at the 'Iolani Classic and has an average of 19.6 points per game for Bolingbrook (11-5). Against Mount Vernon (N.Y.), the guard poured in 26 points in a 65-54 win.
20. Logan Chwastyk, Malvern Prep (Malvern, Pa.)
6-10 | 195 | CThe center dominates down low with 14.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game for the No. 20 team in the state. Against Gonzaga (D.C.) he had 23 points with eight rebounds and eight blocks.
21. Rowan Phillips, Westtown (West Chester, Pa.)
6-6 | 185 | SGAverages 15 points per game and knocked down a game-winning shot last week. The guard started the New Year with a 25-point performance, followed by a game-winning shot in the next game.
22. Malik Moore, Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, N.J.)
6-4 | 175 | PGAverages 21.2 points and 4.6 assists for a squad with some good wins in New Jersey. Over a four-game stretch this month he scored at least 20 each night as the Vikings went (3-1).
24. Antoine Caughman Jr., Keenan (Columbia, S.C.)
6-6 | 180 | SFPuts up 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the No. 14 team in South Carolina. In a December win against Milton (Ga.), Caughman had 21 points, six rebounds and four steals.
25. Tai Bell, Mater Lakes Academy (Miami, Fla.)
6-3 | 200 | PGThe son of NBA veteran Raja Bell and brother of five-star quarterback Dia Bell is carving his own path on the court. The scorer hit 1,000 points in his career earlier this season.
