NORCROSS, Ga. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter,
Norcross (Ga.) held on for a 21-14 victory over
Lovejoy (Ga.) on Saturday. The difference for the Blue Devils was
Joseph Wilber thew a touchdown to
Alvin Kamara.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown, the Wildcats went into halftime with a 7-0 lead. The Blue Devils took the lead for good with a touchdown pass by Wilber to Kamara in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring three points in the third, Norcross still trailed by 11 points going into the fourth quarter. But 18 points in the fourth helped NHS pull out the victory.
The loss snapped Lovejoy's 12-game winning streak.
The Blue Devils' most effective player was Kamara. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 31 touchdowns on the season.
Norcross went into the matchup giving up only 13.4 points per game.
The loss comes after Lovejoy defeated North Cobb 56-35 last week.
In a playoff game next week Norcross (15-0) takes on Lovejoy, and Lovejoy (13-2) will go up against Norcross also in a playoff game.
