Toughest Games: Sanderson and Southeast Guilford at the Battle at the Beach; T.C. Roberson and A.C. Reynolds at the Kickoff Classic, plus Wilmington Hoggard and New Hanover.

Question Marks: How will the Cardinals fill the holes left by graduation, and replace five key starters?

National Look: Though Jacksonville finished No. 2 in the MaxPreps Computer Rankings last season, North Carolina public schools did not have any boys teams ranked in the Top 25 in the NSCAA poll. Teams such as Jacksonville, Sanderson (Raleigh, N.C.) and Green Hope (Cary, N.C.) would like to change that.

In Summary: "We are expecting another successful season. We will have six returning starters off of last year’s state championship team, and (new starting) keeper Joe Davis who had several starts last season. All 10 of our nonconference opponents were playoff qualifiers last season in their respected classifications so we'll constantly be challenged."
