April 30 started off as a quiet morning for the students of
Lincoln Southeast (Neb.), but it ended in cheering and accolades as the final pep rally for the year was held in the gym.

The Lincoln Southeast girls basketball team was honored on the MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard.

Much of the cheering occurred as the 2012-13 Lady Knights basketball team was honored for their state title and national recognition as part of the 6th annual MaxPreps Girls' Basketball Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard.
The gym was already buzzing with the cheer squad and dance team practicing their final routines when MaxPreps and the Nebraska Army National Guard arrived at the school. Students began filing in after their second period and the girls basketball team players excitedly took their seats, donning their Tour of Champions T-shirts. The crowd went wild and cheered on its team as Lindsey Remmers of MaxPreps highlighted the team's accomplishments, which include being the first of 10 schools recognized by MaxPreps and finishing ranked No. 56 out of 20,000 girls varsity basketball teams in the country.
Lt. Col. Georgia Kroese of the Nebraska Army National Guard then said a few words about the team and presented the Minuteman Trophy to coach Kara Graham. Coach Graham couldn't be more proud and gracious to receive the award, and thanked the Army National Guard and MaxPreps.
After the ceremony, the team and Guard proceeded to the hallway for pictures, media interviews and to reminisce about highlights from the season.
Congrats to the Lady Knights on their 2012-13 Nebraska state girls basketball championship and Tour of Champions national recognition!
