The nation's top three teams all enjoyed nice victories to keep their spots in this week's Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
Texas powers Cedar Hill (No. 1) and Allen (No. 2) took down South Oak Cliff and Guyer, respectively, in high-scoring shootouts. No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas was most impressive of all, dominating American Heritage 38-7. If it keeps up that pace, it will ascend even higher up the rankings.
Fresh off a decisive 38-18 victory over Centennial, Mater Dei surged higher in the rankings to 16th from 23rd. Mater Dei led 28-0 at one point. A second SoCal team, Long Beach Poly, also enters the fray, along with Utah power Bingham.
