Pacelli wins first WIAA state title in team history
Pacelli captured its first WIAA state championship in program history, cruising to a 70-40 victory over previously undefeated
Eleva-Strum in the Division 5 state title game.
Jaedyn Zdroik recorded a triple-double with 20 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists. The 5-10 junior is just the second player in girls basketball history to record a triple-double in the WIAA state tournament. The first-ever was recorded by Kati Coleman (Harty) of Ashwaubenon in 2004.
Other key contributors for coach Allison Smaglik and the Cardinals included senior
Ella Van Order and junior
Haylee Ciesewski, who finished with 19 and 14 points, respectively.
Eleva-Strum was paced by junior
Avery Glenz, who tallied 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. The Cardinals end the season with a 30-1 record.
Pacelli finishes the year with a 25-4 record, winning the D5 state title in the program's first trip to state.
