MaxPreps Independent Top 10 boys basketball national rankings

1. (No. 1 last week) IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), 20-1
Five-star prospect Trevon Duval went off for 29 points and eight assists in a big 84-63 win Saturday over previous No. 9 The Rock (Gainesville, Fla.) at the Vince Murray Memorial Challenge in Florida. IMG Academy has defeated 11 teams that have appeared in the High School Top 25 or Independent Top 10 rankings this season. The Ascenders also await a rematch with High School Top 25 No. 17 Patrick School (Elizabeth, N.J.) next weekend at the Hoops For Troops showcase in New Jersey.

2. (2) La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.), 18-1
The Lakers rebounded from their first loss of the year with two double-digit victories over the weekend. Five-star prospect Brian Bowen is averaging 21.3 points per game to pace La Lumiere.

3. (3) Montverde Academy (Fla.), 17-2
Five-star R.J. Barrett dropped 32 points and nine rebounds to help Montverde Academy throttle Tampa Catholic (Tampa, Fla.) and 5-star Kevin Knox 94-59 at the ARS Rescue Rooter Tampa Hoopfest on Saturday in Florida. The Eagles may have a potential showdown with High School Top 25 No. 11 Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia) at the 16th annual Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament this weekend in Florida. 4. (4) Huntington St. Joseph Prep (W.Va.), 16-3
Four-star Keldon Johnson came up clutch and deposited 12 fourth-quarter points to spur the Irish to a 68-62 come-from-behind win Saturday over Victory Rock (Sarasota, Fla.).

5. (5) Prolific Prep Academy (Napa, Calif.), 16-1
Oregon commit Abu Kigab exploded for 35 points in an 84-78 win over a tough Riverdale Baptist (Upper Marlboro, Md.) squad on Wednesday. Duke commit Gary Trent Jr. is averaging 29 points per game to spearhead the Prolific Prep attack.

6. (6) Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), 20-3
Kansas commit Billy Preston recorded 20 points to help the Warriors bounce back from a nail-biting loss to High School Top 25 No. 1 Nathan Hale (Seattle, Wash.) and defeat St. Petersburg (Fla.) 81-59 on Saturday. Oak Hill Academy continues the grind next week with a battle against 16-2 Foothills Christian (El Cajon, Calif.) and a highly-anticipated clash versus High School Top 25 No. 3 Chino Hills (Calif.) at the Nike Extravaganza in California.

7. (7) Rock Creek Christian Academy (Upper Marlboro, Md.), 13-0
Rock Creek Christian had its big-time matchup with undefeated Wise (Upper Marlboro, Md.) pushed back to Feb. 11. The balanced Eagles have eight scorers averaging over five points per game this season.

8. (8) Westtown (Pa.), 21-2
The Moose won their three games this past week by an average margin of 21 points. Five-star Cameron Reddish is averaging 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists per game to head Westtown's potent offense.

9. (NR) St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.), 16-2
Five-star Precious Achiuwa pumped in 21 points to lift the Gray Bees to a 67-46 victory Saturday over Tampa Prep (Fla.). St. Benedict's Prep will join No. 3 Montverde Academy (Fla.) Feb. 2-4 at the St. James Invitational in Maryland.

10. (NR) Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), 20-3
Kentucky commit P.J. Washington balled out with 25 points,14 rebounds and six assists in a huge 78-72 overtime win Saturday over Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas).
