After dropping from No. 1 in the MaxPreps northeast region football computer rankings for most of the past month, St. Joseph's Prep moved back to the top spot this week.
St. Joseph's Prep defeated previous No. 1 Central Catholic to win the Pennsylvania Class AAAAAA state championship. Central Catholic dropped to No. 4 with the loss.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The Northeast region includes teams from Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
