Video: 2016 Heisman finalists as prep stars
See highlights of the finalists for college football's most highly-coveted award.Five finalists for the Heisman Trophy – college football's most prestigious award – were announced Monday.
Each had remarkable prep careers so we decided to take a look back at how they stacked up in high school:
1. Deshaun Watson, ClemsonOne of the most decorated players in Georgia history for
Gainesville, Watson broke numerous state marks including total career yards (17,134), career passing yards (13,077) and career passing touchdowns (155). He also rushed for 4,057 career yards and 63 scores. He led Gainesville to a state title as a junior.

2. Jabrill Peppers, Michigan
The versatile defensive back and running back finished his high school career at
Paramus Catholic (Paramus, N.J.) after starting at nearby
Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey). Peppers was a four-year starter and had offers from nearly every big time college program in the country. In his final three years of high school he rushed for 3,059 yards and 43 touchdowns while catching 57 passes for 842 yards and 17 touchdowns. He had seven interceptions as a junior and senior.

3. Baker Mayfield, OklahomaThe standout quarterback led
Lake Travis (Austin, Texas) to a 25-2 record as a starter and state 4A title in 2011. He threw for 6,255 yards, 67 touchdowns and just eight interceptions in two seasons.

4. Lamar Jackson, LouisvilleAt
Boynton Beach (Fla.), Jackson accounted for 53 touchdowns in two seasons. He threw for 2,263 yards and 31 touchdowns against nine interceptions. The Heisman frontrunner also rushed 192 times for 1,624 yards and 22 touchdowns.
5. Dede Westbrook, Oklahoma
At 5-11 and only 150 pounds, Westbrook was utilized many ways for
Cameron Yoe (Cameron, Texas) during his three-year career. Offensively, he caught 116 passes for 1,670 yards and 24 touchdowns while also churning out over 200 yards on the ground. Defensively, Westbrook pile up 184 tackles, three interceptions and 16 pass deflections.
