1. Fairfax (Los Angeles)Head coach: Harvey Kitani
2014-15 record: 32-3
The Lions reached the Southern California Regional championship game against Mater Dei but lost 51-40. They won the City Section's Open Division title and return a roster that will have seven seniors this season. Although City Player of the Year Lindsey Drew and All-City player Lorne Currie graduated,
Donald Gipson is a first teamer returning after a stellar junior season and he will look to pick up the slack. Kitani is the returning City Coach of the Year, so expect the usual excellence from this program.

2. Westchester (Los Angeles)Head coach: Ed Azzam
2014-15 record: 21-13
The Comets' record from last season showed their tough schedule, not a lack of talent. They take on all comers, and split with Fairfax in league play. They reached the City Open Division title game, losing to Fairfax, and then fell in the opening round of the regional playoffs to eventual finalist Mater Dei. This season, legendary coach Azzam has returning All-City Team member
Keith Fisher back for his senior year. Replacing Ellis Sallahudin, a first-team all-city honoree, will be necessary.

3. Dorsey (Los Angeles)Head coach: Author Gibson
2014-15 record: 24-8
The Dons ran through the Coliseum League unscathed and reached the Open Division consolation final in the section playoffs before losing 79-69 to Redondo Union in the opening game of the Division I SoCal Regionals. They return a pair of all-city players, definitely reason for optimism that they can have more postseason success. Tommie Groce was the MVP of the league but he is listed on the roster for Highland (Palmdale), the school he came to Drosey from, and might not be a Don this season.
Cameron Evans is the other all-city player coming back.

2014-15 record: 20-9
The Conquistadors beat Narbonne but lost to Fairfax and Taft in the City Section Open Division playoffs and didn't reach the regional playoffs. This season, they hope second-team all-city nominee
Brandon Russell can lead the way at guard. Preliminary looks at their roster show a guard-heavy group.

2014-15 record: 21-14
The Spartans weren't an Open Division team last year. And they were the No. 9 seed in Division I. And they won it all. Sylmar still returns
Clarence Williams, a senior guard who was all-city Division I last season and has played four seasons of varsity football at quarterback. He'll be back for his fourth varsity basketball campaign as well. Escoto was the City Coach of the Year for Division I last season as well.
