Video: LaMelo, Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball combine for 93 pointsNew UCLA Bruin commitment shows off his scoring ability with 32 points.Michelle Gardner of the Daily Bulletin
reported Friday that LaMelo Ball – a 13-year old incoming freshman basketball player at
Chino Hills (Calif.) – has committed to UCLA.
Following the lead of senior brother
Lonzo and junior
LiAngelo, LaMelo is the third member of the Ball family to announce intentions to play for Steve Alford and the Bruins.
"It is my dream school," LaMelo told Gardner (
@MGardnerSports). "I decided to get it out of the way now instead of waiting for the future."
Despite some early interest from other schools, LaMelo elected to end his recruitment before ever playing a high school game.
Not much is known about the latest UCLA commitment, but if summer ball is any indication, expect him to be a major producer at Chino Hills from the get-go.
Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times reported in June that LaMelo scored 27 points in his summer league debut and he dropped 32 in a game last week in Las Vegas.
