Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.) to a wild 45-42 victory over visiting
Central (Miami, Fla.) on Friday night at Camden Wildcat Stadium.
According to the Miami Herald, the play was back in forth all night, exemplified when Camden's J.J. Green returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown and on the next play, Central's Rakeem Cato hit Tommy Shuler for an 80-yard TD.
The Wildcats (2-0) employed a balanced running attack to overcome the brilliance of Cato, who drilled 19 of 29 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns.
Senior running back Kenny Hutchinson (5-10, 165) led the Wildcats with 18 carries for 96 yards and one touchdown. Senior fullback Hayden Boudreaux (5-11, 214) bulled his way to 66 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries.
The Wildcats finished with a 412-377 advantage in total yards.Later, Cato completed a 44-yard touchdown and that was immediately answered when Camden's Kenny Hutchinson scored on an 80-yard run.
Central stayed close in the second half on a defensive and special-teams touchdown, but Camden drove the length of the field down the stretch before Ehasz booted the gamewinner.
Ehasz also kicked field goals of 36 and 28 yards to go with four extra points.
Senior linebacker Byran Attaway (6-4, 240) paced the winners defensively with three tackles for losses.
Camden (2-0) came into the game ranked fifth in Georgia, according to MaxPreps.com, and Central (0-1) was No. 3 in Florida.
