On Friday, Jan. 6 MaxPreps and the Kansas Army National Guard made their way
Northwest High School in Olathe, Kansas to honor the girls volleyball team. The Ravens received one of 10 invites to be a part of the 12th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, which is in its seventh year honoring girls volleyball teams across the country.

The celebration took place during halftime of the boys varsity basketball game in front of a huge crowd. To kick it off, MaxPreps representative Will Arens spoke about Olathe Northwest's dream season which culminated with 38-4 record and the Kansas 6A state championship. This was the first state championship for the school in 14 years of having a varsity program. Overall, the team finished ranked No. 49 in the nation in the MaxPreps national computer rankings.
Staff Sergeant Kyle Galvin of the Kansas Army National Guard continued the ceremony and commended the team on its season accomplishments. He sharing the similarities between the traits and values found on the Ravens championship team and within each member of the Army National Guard.
Staff Sergeant Galvin presented the "Minuteman" trophy — officially known as the Army National Guard national ranking trophy — to head coach Barry Lenth and the team. The trophy is a symbol of perseverance, readiness, dedication and commitment to a cause.
Congratulations to Coach Lenth and the Ravens on a great season, high national ranking honor and for exhibiting the values of the Army National Guard national ranking trophy.
