APACHE STORYLINES* Expect the backcourt combo of Hardnett and Turner to drive the offense at Arlington Country Day this year. Hardnett, who averaged over 20 points per game at Gulfport (Miss.) as a junior, has impressed his new coaches more with his passing than scoring. Turner can handle and fill it up, as well. He spent his summer playing alongside national player of the year candidate Ben Simmons on the Nike EYBL circuit.
* A native of Spain, Sima arrived at ACD after a very solid showing in August at the FIBA European U18 Championship. The 6-11 big man averaged 10.9 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots per game in nine outings at the event, which was hosted by Turkey. According to assistant coach Jeff Merritt, Sima may be the team's best passer.
* Move over Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. The Sunshine Independent Athletic Association may be the best high school basketball league in the country. Arlington Country Day, Liberty Christian, Oldsmar Christian, Potter's House Christian, The Rock, Victory Rock and West Oaks comprise the members. At least 15 players with high major offers will take the floor for those teams in 2014-15.
