WILDCAT STORYLINES* Brown catapulted to the No. 2 spot in the
247Sports Composite after an impressive summer. He was Georgia's Class AAAAAA Player of the Year as a junior after averaging more than 20 points per game. "Jaylen is a very good person," Lipscomb said. "He's very coachable, listens to instructions and is one of the hardest-working kids I have ever been around."
* Talented Ohio State pledge Daniel Giddens, a 6-9 center, said goodbye to Wheeler in the offseason, opting to play as a senior at Oak Hill Academy. But the Wildcats saw that departure offset by the arrival of Phillips, who played at nearby Tucker last season.
* Lipscomb built Wheeler into a perennial national power while raising triplets. The Lipscomb trio is now in college with son David playing for Steve Lavin at St. John's and Danielle and Douglas attending Middle Tennessee State.
